Description

As students wrap up their learning about the Age of Exploration, they will synthesize their new knowledge with the thoughts they have formed about the unit's Essential Questions, and more fully develop their thoughts on the Enduring Understandings.

Learning Targets

Students will discuss and form opinions about the unit's EQs:

1. What motivated European countries to explore and claim land?

2. How did European contact with the Americas change the course of history?

3. How did the struggle for progress impact the worldview?

4. How is culture preserved (or not) over time?

5. How has the role and purpose of government been debated across time periods? this has not been addressed in any anchor lessons

Identify examples of the variety of resources (human capital, physical capital, and natural resources) that are used to produce goods and services. Columbian Exchange

Teaching

Need to write lesson template-

Compare and Contrast Negative and Positive Impacts of Exploration (Contrast European & Native American perspectives)
-Have students discuss and debate unit EU's and EQ's
